Using Your Web Site as a Customer Service Tool

Think about how many times you have had to tell your clients the same information over and over again. Or maybe you need a quick reference place for them. Have you considered your web site?

Make sure that your web site is more then an interactive brochure. Offer valuable information and telling clients where to find it on your web site can save lots of valuable time. Offering the latest reference links that can help them in their business, will only make your site and business that much more valuable to your client. Unlike a hardcopy brochure, you can add, delete and update your client information with a few keystrokes.  Another good customer service idea for your web site is a sitemap. More and more people are using this feature to navigate web sites. It is the equivalent of a table of contents in a book. It should list each web page and describe it without graphics. This also helps your site get indexed by the search engines.

The next time you are looking to improve your web site, ask your client what would help them. In the long run it will help not only your client but it will help you save money with the information you do not have to keep repeating and wasting valuable time dong it.
